Lightbulb moments…

Yesterday we had the most joyful morning discussing a distinctly unjoyful topic! Rejection Sensitivity, as Vicki explained, is an extreme, overwhelming emotional reaction to perceived or actual criticism, disapproval, or rejection. Doesn't sound like a laugh a minute, does it?

And yet, there was plenty of laughter. Even more incredible authentic conversation. A bunch of lightbulb moments. And a collective sigh of relief. Because the realisation that other people - even people we like, respect, admire and care for - also feel those feelings is pretty powerful. And the fact that they can be overcome with intention, self-compassion, and perhaps a little of that 'f*ck it' energy we gain with age is pretty awesome too! Vicki and I are going to do a live on instagram to follow up on the conversations in the room and I’ll let you know when we have a date for it. Whether you were in the room or couldn’t make it this time, I am certain it will be a worthwhile watch.

I walked away yesterday feeling the huge power of being together as a collective - of sharing stories, of uplifting and supporting one another and of just being in a room with a properly wonderful group of women. When people ask who comes to the Henley Female Collective I always say ‘women who care about the world and the people in it’ and yesterday was a fantastic example of that. Fun, interesting, caring women having great conversations and hopefully making some fabulous connections.
